No!
Go away!
Dammit, they’re getting closer, but all I can do is watch. With my main systems powered down, the reserve power can only run cameras and my central processor, but that’s it.
I don’t dare turn on my internal cameras. I don’t need more nightmares.
They’re scanning my hull, just like the last team…sigh.
Soon they’ll find a spot in the landing bay and see the SAE Arctic’s guest’s private crafts but also the seven previous salvage crew’s ships that have been left behind. That pink one closest to the main hall door? That flew in here a decade ago.
And here they come. The crew of the… let me focus here, come on! Focus! Ah, the crew of The Sheffield, let’s see how far you get.
I shouldn’t be so cynical. I tried to help the others, but with my limited power, all I could do was open doors slowly or turn on the ventilation system. And every time I try to help I get, ‘Did you open that door?’ or ‘Why is there a breeze inside the abandoned spaceship?’ or ‘What’s with all the dead bodies and the occult drawings? What were these astronauts? Occultists?’
Yes, crew of the USAC Empire, our science officer was an occultist, okay! You were the worst crew to land here. Saying so many dumb things! Going into the room with the demon that said science officer summoned and dying… even though I opened the door that led to the escape pods!
Let’s not focus on the past, Terri. Let’s see how the crew of the mighty Sheffield is doing.
Turning on internal cameras… and they're dead.
They didn’t even make it out of the landing bay. It looks like the demonic whispers got to them, and let’s zoom in… yep, killed each other. This is why guns in space are the worse idea.
If I could, I would turn off the emergency beacon, but that sucker has a nuclear power source, and, again, my power is so low I can’t reach it. If I’d known that would have led to so many more people dying, I would have gone full evil A.i. and stopped our mechanic from launching it in her desperate attempt at saving herself and the remaining crew members all those years ago.
For now, this is Terri, A.i. of the SAE Arctic signing off until the next salvage crew finds me.
